grace in small things: part 2 of 365

1. My youngest son bravely making it through kindergarten despite his separation anxiety.

2. Spending hours watching the fire in the woodstove.

3. Taking only fifteen minutes to have a shower and get dressed and out the door and the hat that makes that all possible.

4. A good book in a comfy bed.

5. Knowing how to make a really great salad dressing.

I love watching fires, it is so relaxing and hypnotic. In fact, I got a DVD of a crackling fireplace so I could do just that when we didn't have one anymore.

As mother's we always try and leave enough time for ourselves to get ready in the morning but as life with kids would have it, it doesnt matter how early a mother woke up there would never be enough time...the time seems to slip away preparing the kids for their day. I guess thats why mothers love their coffee especially in the morning and if they are lucky, they might even be able to enjoy a "special coffee", one topped with Amorreto cream or Bailey's Irish cream...now thats my favorite way to wake up!!...it certainly makes the 15 minutes allotted to myself much more enjoyable!!...

You go, little Parker, dude! I know how hard it can be to leave the comfort of home to go out and do unfamiliar things. He's going learn lots of fun new stuff and make lots of new friends, which will make trudging through the scary stuff totally worth it.
